Real Estate in Marina del Rey
Find plenty of activities to choose from, right around the corner.
Just north of Playa Del Rey, the town of Marina del Rey houses the largest man-made boat harbor in the world, with over 7,000 boats and yachts docked here daily. The harbor was built in the 1950's by the Army Corps of Engineers, and funded through a partnership with the Federal Government, Los Angeles county, and the private sector.
While there are plenty of homes, shops, and restaurants, Marina del Ray is also well known for Fisherman's Village, which replicates a New England style fishing village; it serves as a home for everything from restaurants to dance clubs – fantastic for a night out, and a great tourist attraction. This may explain why the population is small – roughly 8,200 permanent residents in the area.
The majority of residents are in single households, appropriate for an active lifestyle. If you're always looking for something to do, then Marina del Rey is the place for you.
Insider Tip: Mother's Beach is a child friendly beach, where you won't have to worry about waves.
