Real Estate in Westchester California
Once home to the Aviator, it's back as the new 'it' neighborhood.
The Westchester, CA area is a thriving community with a diverse and rich background. Historically, it used to be an aviation town, with tycoons such as Howard Hughes building their factories here. While Westchester is still home to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the identity of the area has shifted away from the industrial, aerospace feel it was known for.
Loyola Marymount University and Otis College of Art and Design reside here, mere blocks from each other, and the area has adopted a little of the college town feel. Not only has this been great for the local economy, but the presence of students from various backgrounds has enlivened the town. LMU and Otis students and thier parents should definitely contact us before moving in to learn of the creative ways others are saving money on thier students housing cost.
Westchester provides a wide range of homes and the most 'small town USA' feel. Parades, little league, block parties, and a friendly sensibility reign here.
Insider Tip: The newest homes are in the North Kentwood section, also the quietest part of Westchester.
